A Classic Hotel from the early 1900's has become a Retirement Center

We have been gifted with the "day old" flowers from a local grocery store which we pick up every week. Are you waiting to light your artistic flame and arrange them for us on a weekly basis? We have 24 arrangements to do (for the resident dining tables) each week when the flowers come. Most are small bud size vases, and 6 are mid-size so there won’t be huge arrangements to have to create.

The residents would thoroughly enjoy dining at tables with artfully arranged flowers at each table.

A Classic Hotel of Bellingham’s Golden Age

When the construction of the Leopold Hotel began in 1926, it was touted in the Bellingham Herald as part of a great expansion in prosperity and class for the burgeoning city, calling it "Another addition of great importance..." along with the building of the Mount Baker Theatre and several downtown department stores.

When the building opened three years later, it was a city-wide event, drawing people from as far as San Francisco, which was no small trip at the time. The Leopold’s first days were abuzz with celebrity lectures, banquets, and ballroom dancing. It was touted as the city’s first skyscraper, and held up as a sign that Bellingham, long a logging and mining town, had finally become metropolitan.
