Sunday Streets is coming to the Western Addition on Sunday, September 13 from 11am - 4pm. We would love you to be there! By volunteering for just 2.5 hours, you’re ensuring the safety and fun of car-free open streets.

Sunday Streets is a series of events put on by the non-profit Livable City, in partnership with the City of San Francisco, to encourage health, community and fun, inspired by similar events in cities throughout the world. Open street events, like Sunday Streets, creates a large, temporary, public space by closing off stretches of various neighborhood streets to automobile traffic, and opening them to pedestrians, bicyclists, and activities for several hours on once a month Sundays. Sunday Streets offers free activities open to the community, such as bike rentals, yoga, and kids games, plus much more.

What: Western Addition Sunday Streets

Available shifts:

• Setup Crew
• Intersection Monitor
• Mystery Shift
• Information and Outreach Booth
• Breakdown Crew

Shifts are about 2.5 hours long. All volunteers are highly encouraged to attend one orientation each season. There is a list of dates on our website. Orientations are held on the Monday before each Sunday Streets events. Volunteers under 18-years-old must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver and an adult must accompany those under 16-years.

It takes hundreds of volunteers to make each Sunday Streets season possible. From neighborhood outreach and noticing before each event to staffing intersections and monitoring the route during the event, volunteers help keep Sunday Streets running and make each event safe and fun for thousands of San Franciscans! We couldn't do it without you! Volunteers are the heart and soul of Sunday Streets!
