Families to Freedom is seeking an amazing volunteer to answer inbound calls from victims and new survivors of domestic abuse. The ideal candidate must possess good listening skills, the ability to comfort people in crisis while maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor. You would be working in an open team oriented environment so you must be able to work well with other volunteers and at times with little or no supervision. Some days will be busy while other days are a leisurely pace.

This is an onsite position that cannot be done from home. Our office is located in North Dallas near Addison. You can choose your own schedule to commit to during normal business hours. Hands-on training and coaching may span several days or weeks depending on your availability.

Your words of encouragement, guidance to persevere, safety planning and coordination to help a victim become free will directly impact lives on the other end of the line. You will be the first professional contact representing our agency's services giving your caller hope to overcome an abusive situation. If you are interested in being an uplifting voice for callers of domestic abuse, and can remain calm during emotional calls, this may be the most rewarding use of your time as a volunteer.

Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

Must be comfortable navigating multiple tabs on a browser, comfortable using smartphone apps, and able to quickly research web based information while on a call. Ideal age 21 or older. Email volunteer@Families toFreedom.org or call 972-885-7020 for more information about this position. Orientation is about 90 minutes.
