Thank You for your willingness to give of your time and talents to benefit the residents at Redstone Village. Whether you volunteer an hour a week or an hour a year, your sense of citizenship and your commitment to our residents is appreciated. We consider your involvement very important, and ask that you follow the guidelines outlined below to help us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all. If you are unclear about any of the following, please consult the Lifestyles Director or Activities Coordinator.

Purpose: Redstone Village utilizes volunteers and family members to further enhance its programs and activities for its residents. Prior to volunteering at Redstone Village, all volunteers must be oriented with the community’s expectations and goals:

All volunteers shall exhibit behavior that is respectful and assumes equality toward members of the same and opposite sex and all ethnic/ racial and religious groups. Volunteers shall respect cultural differences and broaden their knowledge and understanding of human relations.

Volunteers shall keep information about the participants and staff confidential unless disclosure to proper authorities as required by law. Any information that indicates a resident will harm her/himself or another person must be reported to the Lifestyles Director or Activities Coordinator. The same is true if the resident reports that he/she has been abused. This information should not be reported to friends, relatives, coworkers, or other acquaintances. Also, any criticism of the community, its staff members, or its procedures will not be tolerated.

Eligibility: All individuals are eligible to apply for volunteer openings in accordance with the Redstone Village non-discrimination policy. Required skills and experience vary from position to position, but all applicants are required to support the Redstone Village Mission Statement: To provide an active, independent lifestyle for our residents in an atmosphere of comfort, security, and exceptional service.

We expect that your experience with us will be a positive one. Your presence in Redstone Village sends a strong message to our residents that our community values them and what they have to offer. A staff member may contact you periodically to seek your feedback as we strive to improve our efforts.
