Join the Highland Improvement Team (HIT) Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 8:00am to 12:00pm. HIT will be continuing with our Storm Drain Stenciling citywide project. Volunteers are needed to assist in stenciling a "No Dumping" warning message above storm drains throughout the City. This is a "traveling" project, so we ask that all volunteers provide thier own transportation. Volunteers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for this project.
Volunteers can contact Volunteer Services to sign-up or simply register the same morning of the project at Highland City Hall (27215 Base Line) from 7:30am to 8:00am. Volunteers depart City Hall for the project site at 8:00am.
Please remember that all volunteers are asked to provide their own transportation to and from the cleanup/project site.
The City will provide all tools and equipment needed and will host lunch afterward for all those dedicating their Saturday to this project.
Everyone is welcome to join and help with any and all HIT projects. HIT projects are family friendly and fun for all ages!
Interested Volunteers can contact Volunteer Services to sign up at 909-864-6861 extension 203.

THE CITY OF HIGHLAND MISSION AND VALUES
Highland is dedicated to the betterment of the individual, the family, the neighborhood and the
community. The City Council and the staff of the City of Highland are dedicated to providing
the quality of public facilities and services that
its citizens are willing to fund and will do so as
efficiently as possible.
This Mission is established to reflect the following beliefs which represent the predominant

affecting the citizenry of Highland.
RESPONSIBILITY
Everyone in the community has rights and is responsible for their own actions.
SERVICE
Volunteer service is a valued community resource.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Public resources and finances are to be stewarded carefully and conservatively-we live within
our means and will not place huge debts on future generations.
CREATIVITY
Creative solutions are the norm, not the exception.
NEIGHBORHOOD STABILITY
Neighborhood stability and a sense of ownership are to be encouraged and strengthened.
VISION
The community has a vision of the future and how it will get there.
FAMILY
Families are the basic unit of society and the essence of what makes our community. All values
should be encouraged at this family level.
Description
Have you ever wanted to give back to your community by volunteering? Here are a few of the several organizations to consider:
Blood Drive: Highland sponsors a blood drive once every two months at the Highland Police Station. Volunteers can help by processing donors, setting up tables and chairs and offering refreshments in the canteen.
Highland Improvement Team: The Highland Improvement Team (HIT) meets once a month, typically the third Saturday of each month, with projects such as property cleanup for disabled citizens and seniors, graffiti abatement, weed abatement and City events.
