Seeking volunteers for:
West Powellhurst Elementary: 2921 SE 116th Ave Portland, OR 97266
Date: December 11th 4pm-8pm.
We would like to host a clothing exchange for our families. Families would donate a bag of clean used clothes and they would be given a token to shop. We can also refer families with a token if they are not able to donate clothes. Families would be able to shop for each student in their family. We are thinking one small bag per student depending on stock. We need volunteers to help manage the clothing exchange and provide customer service to families. We are also thinking of creating a sewing station to sew on patches or hem pants.

Mission Statement
Metropolitan Family Service helps people move beyond the limitations of poverty, inequality and social isolation. We serve children, families and older adults in the tri-county area. MFS is dedicated to building stronger communities by providing services, connecting people with resources, and offering meaningful and rewarding volunteer opportunities.
Description
Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their areas of interest and abilities. Volunteers participate in on-going opportunities in one of three focus areas: helping children succeed, strengthening families and their connections to the community, and helping older adults and persons with disabilities live independently. We create opportunities that bridge generations and inspire everyone to live their best life.
