Donation Can Program
Advocates currently has donation cans located at 9 downtown Frederick locations. As a Donation Can volunteer, you would go to the downtown businesses where the cans are located and replace the can with a fresh, empty can. The collected monies are then delivered to the Advocates business office located on Abrecht Lane. The cans are checked about once a month.
Committee Membership
Advocates has several committees including: Development, Volunteer, Fund Raising that generally meet once a month. Committee members are expected to contribute and discuss ideas according to the mission of the committee.
Events
Participate in setting-up, staffing, and taking down Advocates display table for events such as Frederick’s "In the Streets". These events are generally held once a year.
Residential Maintenance
This volunteer activity could involve interior or exterior painting, interior or exterior repair work, cleanup, yard or garden maintenance, etc.

Description
Established in 1988 Advocates for Homeless Families has successfully provided services to several hundred families who ultimately overcame homelessness, enhanced their lives, and became active members of their community. The dedication and support of our Board of Directors, Donors, Volunteers, and Staff provides a solid foundation for the success of our mission and the families we serve. The organization values its partnerships with fellow human service organizations to ensure that families and individuals in the community are provided the necessary resources and support to live healthy, safe, and responsible lives.
