Docents in Training
A group of our volunteer docents about to graduate.

During our public hours, visitors from near and far come to Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site to experience what life was like in old California. The 1844 adobe home is available to the public via tours by trained docents. Docents bring the history of the place and the people to life through stories and the objects in the museum's collection. After completing docent training you will have a wealth of historical knowledge that will make you feel confident and eager to share with curious visitors. After completing training, volunteers are expected to give tours one 4-hour shift per month. Training takes place over 6 consecutive Saturday mornings.
