The Collaborative for High Performance Schools, also known as CHPS, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to making every school an ideal place to learn. CHPS works with schools, architectural teams other school stakeholders to develop and implement standards for healthy, high performance K-12 educational facilities across the country.
Duties:
- Assist design teams with project intake, payment, progress, and recognition; monitors record keeping and file maintenance for the program or project
- Coordinates and attends meetings; establishes and maintains internal and external contacts as necessary;
- Prepares records of project activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing in and the delivery of required materials;
- Provide basic program assistance to school districts and design professionals on the CHPS Criteria and the CHPS Verified and CHPS Designed program requirements;
- Screen CHPS Verified project documentation for prerequisites and credits per the CHPS Criteria rating system;
- Assist in quality control (QC) review of work done by external CHPS Verified reviewers;
- Assist in conceiving, developing and implementing improvements to the certification review process based on personal knowledge and experience, and/or user feedback
Required:
- Basic Internet and computer skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, and google spreadsheet
- Good organizational skills
- Keen analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, in a team setting and to take direction
- Available at least once a week for four hours (there is a potential to work remotely)
Desirable:
- Commited to Mission and Vision of CHPS
- Interested in green building and educational facility standards
- Highly motivated
- Knowledge of CiviCRM or other Constituent Relation Management system
- Knowledge of BaseCamp and GoogleDocs
This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone with project management experience and a few free hours to share or someone who would love to gain practical experience.
