Although we are always looking for more trained Therapets, you don’t have to have an animal in the program - or at all - to work with us.
We need people to help in many areas: Taking Photos or Videos; Helping with Visitations at Hospitals; Being our Mascot "Healer"; Helping with Secretarial Duties; Fundraising; Grant Writing; Talking about Therapet at Community Events; and/or Helping us with Technology and Social Media. We also need more trained Therapets to visit hospitals, schools, community events, etc. Do you have a dog, cat or bird who loves people? Volunteer with Therapet! Help others while spending quality time with your pet! Our next volunteer orientation session is from 11 am - 1 pm on Thursday, June 15th at the Therapet office (225 E Amherst, Ste. 200 in Tyler). If this date and time does not work for you, there will be other session on Tuesday, August 8th from 6 - 8 pm. Please call 903-535-2125 to register to attend one of these sessions or visit our website for more information (www.therapet.org). We hope to see you soon!

Mission Statement
Therapet’s mission is to utilize specially trained and certified animals to promote health, hope and healing.
Description
Every day, Therapet teams motivate, inspire and comfort people by providing excellence in health, hope and healing. Therapet provides internationally recognized standards, educational expertise and highly sought after certification programs for the successful management of animal assisted therapy and animal assisted activities.
Therapet has now been serving east Texas for 20 years! What started as a small group of six or seven founding volunteer teams has now grown to 100+ volunteers, 80+ dogs, 5 cats and a cockatoo. Three of our founding volunteers, Bonnie Maywhort, Julie Miller and Susie Moore, are still volunteering with Therapet. They continue to guide the mission of our organization and support Therapet through their leadership and volunteerism.
