Heartland Hospice provides care to patients wherever they call home: in the house they've lived in for years, a skilled nursing center, an assisted living facility or independent living facility.
We are part of the We Honor Veterans volunteer program where we aim topair all of our veteran hospice patients with recruited veteran volunteers. Once the volunteers are paired with a patient who shares similar military experiences they have the unique ability to relate and strongly connect with each other.
We ould like to honor our veterans by painting a mural in our office. This is where we need YOU! We would provide all of the necesaary materials and supplies and give you suggested images to use, butthe actual mural design would be up to you. The design would have to be approved, but you can be creative with it.

Description
At Heartland, we consider our involvement with patients a sacred opportunity and a privilege to be in their lives. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need.
Our volunteers help enrich the lives of our patients by:
- Running errands for patients and families
- Staying with patients so family members can get a much-needed rest
- Reading or providing a comforting touch
- Playing or singing soothing music to patients
- Keeping vigil with patients in their final hours
- Helping with office support tasks at the agency
- Providing a friendly visit to lift a patient's spirits
- Providing special veteran volunteer support to patients who are veterans
