Virtual peer counseling

Do you know what it’s like to grieve the loss of a loved one and want to help provide support to others?

GrieveWell is in search of kind individuals who have traveled their own grief journeys and are prepared to support others through the grief process. We prefer candidates who live in Michigan where our clients are located as well.

Even though grief is a natural part of life, it can feel incredibly isolating and overwhelming. After the funeral, friends and family return back to their lives often leaving grievers feeling unsupported and alone. This is where Peer Counselors come in.

1:1 peer support has been shown to improve an individual’s quality of life and overall health. This powerful tool empowers grievers to work towards goals and live a healthy, full life after a loss. The bereaved feel supported and connected without feeling isolated or judged. If you have traveled your own grief journey and feel ready to help others through their loss, please consider joining GrieveWell as a Peer Counselor. All types of loss are welcome. You will be trained and supported by a licensed therapist. Due to COVID-19, our Peer Counselor Training will likely be virtual. We are planning to do a training via Zoom and Google Classroom. The training costs $25 and includes a background check upon completion - required of all peer counseling volunteers.
--------------
Attendees will gain valuable skills in communication and tools for understanding their own grief. By the end of the Peer Counseling Training Workshop, you will: - Become familiar with the mission of GrieveWell - Have a better understanding of the normal grieving process as well as complicated grief -Understand the role of a Peer Counselor -Obtain effective and compassionate listening skills -Reflect on your own personal journey of life and loss Learn more and register today at https://grievewell.nationbuilder.com/peer_counselor_training
