You can drive grateful clients of a local food pantry home. Help someone, often an elderly person, get his or her heavy groceries back home. Our volunteer drivers do a two-hour shift and it's a shuttle service from the food pantry in the City of Albany to surrounding neighborhoods. You will have the true appreciation of these shoppers who often have no other choice but to walk home in all kinds of upstate NY weather. You can volunteer once or twice a month; it's up to you. Weekday opportunity.

Community Caregivers Neighbors Helping Neighbors The mission of Community Caregivers, Inc. is to enable individuals of all ages to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life within their homes and communities.

Description

Community Caregivers serves many communities in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. There is no charge for our services.

We are recruiting volunteers who would like to have a rewarding experience. You can drive someone to an appointment, lend a hand to a family facing a medical crisis, grocery shop, help with light household chores, be a friendly visitor or telephone assurance caller.

You can volunteer from one hour a month to twice a week or anything in between. Our volunteers usually serve weekdays, but select opportunities are available evenings or weekends. You select the service level that's right for you and your schedule. We offer orientation, support and volunteer learning opportunities.
