ORGANIZATION: National MS Society - Greater Carolinas Chapter

Gain work experience or earn academic credit while working with a dynamic non-profit team!

The Programs and Services Intern works directly with the Chapter’s Programs staff to assist program coordinator with planning and facilitating programs and distributing resources to healthcare professionals and Society constituents.

Responsibilities for this internship include:

Program Planning

  • Contact vendors as needed to move event logistics forward.
  • Work with key volunteers/program facilitators to coordinate program.
  • Help to establish logistics for the events as needed.
  • Research/visit facilities for programs.

Healthcare Outreach

  • Maintain healthcare providers list.
  • Outreach to local healthcare facilities to provide MS literature.
  • Maintain MS literature library.

Skills Needed for this internship include:

  • Detail oriented.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.

Unpaid Internship; full or part-time schedule available (within regular business hours - Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t. The Greater Carolinas Chapter, with offices located in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte, NC, serves over 18,000 individuals affected by MS in North and South Carolina. We help each person address the challenges of living with MS and raise funds for MS research. Our vision is a World Free of MS!
