ORGANIZATION: Guadalupe River Park Conservancy

Guadalupe River Park is home to a glorious 3 acre orchard in the heart of downtown San Jose. This historic orchard hosts multiple varieties of fruit trees many of which are heritage varieties. This portion of the park is need of some tender loving care from an independent, knowledgeable and consistent volunteer.

We need help keeping the orchard in good health and looking good. To do this we need asisstance with watering, minor pruning, and tree monitoring.

Schdueling is flexible any time between M-F 8:30-5PM and occational Saturdays are avalible.

Description

The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy provides community leadership for the development and active use of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens through education, advocacy and stewardship. Past efforts by the Conservancy contributed to collaboration among government agencies and community interest groups seeking to solve problems related to the Guadalupe River flood control project. The Conservancy is continually involved in completing the master plans for both the park and gardens, creating educational programs, promoting awareness of the Park & Gardens, and developing membership and volunteer opportunities to increase public support and involvement.
