VITAS Hospice Volunteer Orientation 07/07/15

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: VITAS Healthcare of CT

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

VITAS is looking for kind and caring people to help terminally ill patients and their families. Friendly visits, simple errands, providing a listening ear and the gift of friendship at a crucial time can make a real difference in another's life. Yours, too! Other VITAS volunteer activities: respite care (sit with a patient while the caregiver takes a break); friendly visits to patients and their families at home, in a nursing home, or assisted living facility. Volunteers may spend time helping patients write letters, read books, or help them stay current with today's events. Just being there to visit someone who might not necessarily get a visitor makes a real difference.

Volunteers are needed to work with patients in Waterbury and New Haven County.

We are also looking for volunteers to participate in our office and help with filing and putting together admission packets. Attention to detail required.
