We count on our Day of Event volunteers to ensure a successful Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes experience. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Registration: Welcome Team Captains and walkers, help get them registered and distribute t-shirts.
- Rest Stop: Serve refreshments, offer assistance and provide support to walkers.
- Finish Line: Serve refreshments and cheer and greet walkers as they complete their day.

Mission Statement
The mission at the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. To fulfill this mission, the American Diabetes Association funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health care professionals and the public, and advocates for scientific research and the for the rights of people with diabetes.
Description
Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is part of the ADA's movement to Stop Diabetes and the signature one-day, fundraising and awareness walk taking place in 200 cities across the United States. Step Out helps raise money that will change the future of diabetes and the lives of 29 million American children and adults living with diabetes today. The day of the event is a party to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of our teams and individuals as well as an opportunity to promote awareness about the seriousness of diabetes in the local community and the Association.
