We are looking for some big-hearted people to become 1:1 volunteers at the Julia Temple Healthcare Center. Our building is a home for people coping with varying degrees of dementia- many of them have no family or friends to come visit, so our 1:1 volunteers fill that void. Our 1:1 volunteers do a variety of things: conversation, reading, playing cards, helping with small-group activities, manicures, or simply sitting and holding someone's hand. Our 1:1 volunteers commit to at least 1 hour per week, and we are happy to work with your schedule. We also provide training materials to make you as comfortable as possible as you begin in this new role. You can also complete all facets of the application/orientation/training process online, and be volunteering in the building within 1 week! Please let me know if you're interested!

We are a long-term care facility for those struggling with dementia as well as a short-term rehabilitation residence for those requiring therapy to return home.
