ORGANIZATION: The Field Museum

Discovery Squad in Action

Did you know that The Field Museum has over 40 million specimens in their collection, and less than 1% are out for public viewing? Join the Discovery Squad and share the stories of the hidden treasures of The Field through the use of real objects from the museum’s collection.

Come learn about science, make friends and improve your communication skills as a Discovery Squad volunteer. If you don’t know much about science or don’t have communication training, don't worry! We will teach you.

The Discovery Squad program occurs every day between 10am and 3pm. Volunteers must be able to sign up for a minimum of 5 hours per month with a general time commitment of 8 months to one year.

Field Museum volunteers receive wonderful benefits including a Field Museum membership after one year of service, free parking, free admission to The Field Museum and access to weekly scientific seminars and lectures.

To Apply: please access our website at https://www.fieldmuseum.org/volunteer to fill out the online volunteer application and someone from HR will contact you soon. Thank you!
