Come out and spend a couple of hours along the beautiful Agua Hedionda Lagoon shoreline while giving back. The small section of public shoreline is in need of some TLC due to erosion as well as a small establishment of the invasive pampasgrass. Three main areas of impact will be carried out, these include; trash pickup, vegetation pruning/removal, and erosion control. An AHLF staff member will lead different work groups. Water, food, and tools will be provided. Make sure to wear sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Mission Statement
The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation (AHLF) was established as a non-profit corporation in 1990 to conserve, restore and enhance the environmental features of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, marsh, wetlands, and watershed areas. The AHLF operates the lovely Lagoon Discovery Center at 1580 Cannon Road in Carlsbad, where they holds numerous environmental educational programming every year.
Description
The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation's objective is to:
-Advocate for the lagoon, promoting and assuring future lagoon vitality
-Promote balanced recreational and commercial uses of the lagoon and wetlands
-Provide strong support for public access, trails and recreational opportunities
-Develop and promote, through The Lagoon Discovery Center, educational programs to enhance community and visitor awareness and understanding of water resource and watershed-related environmental issues.
