Soulmates Fostering

Fostering is more than just the accomplishment and love you get from a job well done -- it truly saves the lives of a pup or a dog. Fostering a dog or puppy is the beginning of their new lives. Some of the dogs have suffered from abuse and neglect, and they need to learn to trust humans again, and know that they are safe and loved. Others have been owner surrendered and through no fault of their own end up in shelters. These are due to issues that their owners were facing (illness, loss of jobs, moving, divorce, etc).

Canine Soulmates Rescue pays for the medical care the dogs need, including but not limited to neutering/spaying, routine shots, and other possible surgeries. We will also pay for some routine supplies (puppy pads).

A Foster Volunteer's responsibilities are:

Provide Food and Water

  • Provide Indoor Shelter
  • Commit to bringing the dog/pup to all vet appointments, until fully vetted
  • Commit to bringing the dog/pup to all adoption events (generally 3 per month)
  • Provide Love and Socialization
  • Commitment to foster the dog until the dog is adopted
  • Evaluate the dog while in your care so we can determine the right placement for your dog.

If you do decide to become a foster and you have other dogs in your home, vaccinations on your dogs must be current, including rabies. All dogs must be on heartworm preventative.

Interested in foster with Canine Soulmates? Complete our Foster Application form. It tells us about who you are, what your expectation are, and how we can reach you. The Foster Home Requirements form lays out the formal requirements for a foster home, and the foster Agreement defines the duties and liabilities of each party. At any time during this process, please feel free to call and talk with one of our volunteers, who will be happy to answer any questions that you might have.

After all of the paperwork is complete, one of our volunteers will contact you and arrange to do a home check. This is done to ensure that your home is suitable for fostering a rescue dog. Once the home visit has been completed, a CSR volunteer will work with you to help place a rescue dog or pup into your home.

Mission Statement

Canine Soulmates Rescue Group is an all-volunteer, non-profit, no-kill dog rescue and advocacy organization, composed of peo ple from every walk of life. We are committed to a common interest of helping save lives and finding abandoned, abused, neglected, and lost dogs the right "forever home" for their specific needs. We want to bring an end to the homeless animal tragedy and believe the euthanasia of millions of animals each year is an unacceptable solution. In addition, we believe that our actions within the rescue have a direct effect on this, and we can create change. To this end, we so pledge with love and hope.

Description

An all-breed dog rescue volunteer group based in Keller, TX with volunteers throughout the DFW metroplex who love dogs and w ant to help those who end up homeless through no fault of their own. We help these dogs get forever homes. We foster the dogs in private foster homes, not shelters while looking for their forever families. We then carefully select a family who will be committed to care for the dog for its lifetime. The dog is posted on Petfinder, Facebook and will be taken to different venues to help us find a family looking to add a Canine Soulmate to their family. As a non-profit, we support our organization through adoption donations, donations from the public and generous donations from business organizations.
