The Corporate Relations Development Coordinator will be responsible for leading the development and expansion of major corporate and individual donors for Humanity Road and will report to the Humanity Road President. He/She will be responsible for creating and executing the short and long-term strategies to realize substantial revenue growth by leading annual fund-raising campaigns at corporate accounts. He/She will focus efforts not only on existing relationships but must drive new business.

We seek motivated and responsible college students or young professionals looking to gain experience working with an internationally known nonprofit. Prior interning experience is not a requirement, but we do require a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. The candidate should identify with Humanity Road’s mission and have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as familiarity with comparable Google docs. Our intern needs to be able to work independently and with a team and a supervisor.

Qualifications

  • College level senior in degree program with major in fund-raising

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Experienced in nonprofit fund-raising preferred but not required

  • Strong leadership skill, e.g., self-directed, creative, focused, team-oriented

  • Knowledge of online marketing basics and best practices including branding, content marketing and relationship building

  • Experience with digital analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Adwords) to improve the effectiveness of digital campaigns

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work on multiple projects with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute short term strategies for building revenue growth

  • Work within a team to build long term strategies for donor growth and retention

  • Assist with (a) organizing special campaigns, (b) researching potential donors, (c) researching new fund-raising markets

  • Send mailings and invitations, as needed

  • Provide current donors and members with information

  • Help maintain database records
