ORGANIZATION: After the Harvest

Apple gleaning season is here! In August, we'll be harvesting apples on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Contact Sandy with a date that's good for you and help hungry families who need good, nutritious food.

At After the Harvest, our volunteers glean--gather excess produce that would otherwise go to waste--at nearby farms and provide it to food banks and pantries.

  • Your organization/group wants to glean? Reserve your date in advance.
  • You want to lead a gleaning? We always need Field Supervisors.

After the Harvest has a very small staff, so we only succeed because of volunteers like you! Thanks so much for your help.

After the Harvest rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to agencies that serve hungry people, primarily in Greater Kansas City.

Description

Our volunteers glean after the harvest, picking what’s left in farmers’ fields and picking up already harvested leftover produce and distributing them to local food pantries and food banks that serve the great KC metro. After the Harvest, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
