Are you looking for an amazing camp counselor experience??
Look no further than Variety's Trailblazer Day Camp 2015! At this camp for children of all abilities, kiddos will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities to include zip lining, swimming and water play, movies and arcade games at the Theater in the Woods. archery, miniature golf, and much more!
We are seeking up to 16 highly motivated and energetic volunteers who possess qualities such as empathy, compassion, enthusiasm, positivty in the face of adversity, patience, kindness, and integrity. Volunteers must also be 18 or over, have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check.
Volunteers should be available both August 10th and 11th from 7:45 AM - 5 PM.

Description
Variety's Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children in Killeen, TX is the flagship program for Variety, The Children’s Charity of Texas. Over this sprawling 120 acre retreat, incredible work is done for children with special needs and many others all over Central Texas and beyond.
Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children began in 1984. It was originally founded by two Central Texas families in remembrance of Baby Charlie, the infant son of one of these families, who suffered from a heart ailment. In his memory, Peaceable Kingdom was opened as a day fishing camp for children with special needs, and has grown to be one of the premier retreat centers for children with special needs since its merger with Variety, The Children’s Charity in 2012.
Throughout the year Variety's Peaceable Kingdom hosts three different programs: Environmental Education Program (EEP), Weekend Retreat Program, and Summer Program. We serve a variety of diagnoses and needs, including children who are typically developing, and adult groups not related to our mission.
