ORGANIZATION: The Laurel Foundation

"Every time I come to camp I learn a new life lesson, and that life lesson is always taught to me through the heart of a camper. I have never had any experience that comes close to what I experience every time I come to camp. It’s amazing and life changing and I always come away with more than I could ever give." - Jody (7 camps)

The Laurel Foundation is dedicated to providing year-round, educational, wilderness camp programs (free of charge) to children, ages 6-17, living with HIV/AIDS. Camp Laurel enables children living with HIV/AIDS to experience the magic and wonders of childhood free from the stresses of their daily lives.

Medical Staff volunteers are the lifelines of the Laurel Foundation! Without our dedicated volunteer counselors Camp Laurel would not be the success it is today. This is a unique opportunity to touch the lives of these kids in an unforgettable way. It is also an unforgettable experience for all of our volunteers- you might find yourself dancing at the camp talent show or competing in the Wacky Olympics! Serving as a Camp Laurel Camp Med Staff is a rewarding and challenging experience, one that many volunteers return to year after year.

"CAMP LAUREL...CHANGES LIVES!"

Help bring joy, hope, and laughter into the lives of these special children by volunteering on the Medical Staff!!!

Mission Statement

Committed to improving the lives of children living with HIV and AIDS, we believe that every child has the right to experience the wonder of childhood. Through our programs we strive to contribute to the development of each child’s self esteem, self-awareness and self-fulfillment. The mission of The Laurel Foundation is to empower children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS through educational and support programs in a safe and trusting environment. While HIV/AIDS is often an isolating illness because of negative social stigma and the sickness or loss of a parent, The Laurel Foundation aims to eradicate this isolation through a comprehensive approach, including residential camps, mentorship, life enhancement workshops, ongoing support programs and collaborative partnerships.
