On August 15th, 2015 Korea celebrates 70 years of independence. To honor this special occasion, the Korean-American Association of Washington Metropolitan Area (KAAW) is organizing a 5K run to give tribute to the history of Korean forbearers who paved the way for modern Korea to flourish, and Koreans to prosper all across the world. Co-hosted by The National Unification Advisory Council - Washington Chapter.
Volunteers are needed on August 15th starting at 5:30am at Burke Lake Park for a 5k run/1 mile walk to help with set-up/break down, registration, and handing out water along the run route.
Schedule:
5:30 am - Set up 6:00 am - Onsite registration and packet pick up starts
8:15 am - Race start
8:30 am - Walk begins
9:30 am - Race complete
10:00 am - Winners announced
10:30 am - Awards ceremony
11:30 am - Break down/Clean up
KAAW is proud to announce that we have been approved as a Certifying Organization for earning service hours when you volunteer for any KAAW event!
Volunteers will receive a t-shirt and bagels/fruit will be available first thing in the morning.
