Through the Digital Ally Open Web.com Tour golf tournament held at the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate, the KC Crusaders have added more than $6.2 million in economic impact to the area each year and have helped charities raise more than $450,000 since 2011.
Description
In August 2011, The Digital Ally Open (formerly known as the Midwest Classic) made its distinctive mark on the Kansas City area. As the official proving ground of the PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour events attract enthusiastic followers wherever they are held. Since 2011, over 65,000 spectators have walked the tournament grounds to watch as golf professionals from across the country and around the world compete over four days of tournament play. Held at the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate, the Digital Ally Open has earned its place among the best tournaments in the country.
Founded, owned and operated by the PGA TOUR, the Web.com Tour identifies players who are ready to compete and win on golf's greatest stage. With three out of every four PGA TOUR players boasting Web.com Tour roots, and alumni who've amassed more than 402 PGA TOUR titles (including 19 major championships and four FedEx Cups), our impact on the PGA TOUR is undeniable.
The Web.com Tour features 24 tournaments like the Digital Ally Open, played across the U.S. and five countries abroad. Much like the PGA TOUR, it enjoys a diverse membership and a global television audience on the Golf Channel, covering players from 20 countries competing for $18 million in prize money.
While the players make a significant impact on the PGA TOUR, the tournaments make an equally significant impact in the communities where they're held. With the help of over 20,000 volunteers and support from local sponsors, Web.com Tour events raise major dollars for designated charities-and that's what the Web.com Tour is all about.
