Do you want to become more involved in your community? Victim Outreach Incorporated (VOI) offers opportunities to work directly with crime victims, offering support and access to resources during a critical stage of trauma. Volunteer Victim Advocates carry a pager, and are called out by law enforcement on evenings and weekends to respond on scene, to ensure victims’ rights are upheld and needs are met. VOI was established in 1986 and serves residents in Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Golden, Mountain View, Lakeside, Morrison and the Colorado School of Mines in Jefferson County. The application process is selective and applicants must be at least twenty one years of age, submit to a background check, attend a forty hour training, and live within a twenty minute response time of cities served. No experience necessary. Applications are being accepted for the upcoming training that starts September 2015.
