Did you love playing outside as a child? Have you read the statistics about the amount of a child’s day spent in front of a screen? Do you believe it is better to light a small candle than to curse the darkness? Trinity River Audubon Center is piloting a new program at an elementary school in your area with the goal of encouraging children to appreciate nature in their everyday environment. We will be spending 7 weeks with each grade doing outdoor learning and we could use the help of nature-loving adults to model comfort in nature. What do you need to know? That being outdoors is a fun way to spend time, and that you don’t need to know all the answers to have a good time pursuing the questions.
Logistics: commitment 1 day/week 5 ½ hours.
