Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa is thrilled to announce that Bellisio Foods Inc. generously donated a semi load full of frozen food to our Clubs! Now it's time to get the food into the hands of our Club families and we need your help! We will be doing a series of three distributions at two locations to hand out food and we need volunteers to help us with this task. Volunteers will help with a small check in process, running food to families from the freezer and helping families load food into their vehicles. If you, your team or group is interested in participating please contact Elaine Collet, Coordinator of Special Events and Volunteerism, 515-262-5695 or ecollet@bgcci.org.
Friday, July 31st 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. Baker Club - 1214 E 15th Street - 10 people

Description
For the past 50 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa has provided kids and teens with research-based programs that focus on education, healthy lifestyles, and character and leadership development. Today, we serve more than 2,000 central Iowa youth ages 5-18 from 44 local schools each year (500 kids a day). We offer hands-on educational and experiential enrichment every day after school, as well as all-day programming during the summer and other breaks. The Club is a safe setting where youth can participate in both supervised and self-directed activities designed to give them the developmental assets necessary in becoming successful adults. Homework help, leadership opportunities, computer access, and a plethora of age-appropriate activities are offered at Club every day. Our youth development strategy is to instill a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence in the young people we serve. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa offers programs in five core areas:
- Education & Career Development
- Character & Leadership Development
- Health & Life Skills
- The Arts
- Sports, Fitness & Recreation
