Mission Statement

Downtown Kannapolis Inc. provides community-based leadership in achieving the vision for downtown Kannapolis in partnership with local government, businesses, and property owners. We are a sustainable organization working for the citizens of Kannapolis. Formed in 2011, DKI strives for a thriving downtown through marketing and promotion, coordination of events and programs and support of investments in the physical environment. We want everyone to "Experience Downtown Kannapolis."

Description

Downtown Kannapolis captures the heart of our community with its aesthetic charm and history. It is the epicenter for health & nutrition activity in the region and serves as a gathering place for social, cultural, civic and business activities, incorporating a thriving mix of uses.

DKI has the following committees to move forward on its work plan. We rely on volunteers to run this organization and would love to have your energy and time. Please email downtownkannapolis@gmail.com if you are interested in serving on one of these committees.

Promotion & Marketing Committee - To promote a positive image of downtown Kannapolis.

Design Committee - To identify priorities in getting downtown into top physical shape and creating a safe, inviting environment.

Membership Committee - To build support for DKI through engagement of new and existing members.

Events Committee - To put on quality events in downtown for the benefit of the community.

Concert Committee - To put on concerts in downtown for the benefit of the community.

Kannapolis Arts Committee - To put on cultural arts events in downtown for the benefit of the community.
