APPROXIMATE HOURS PER WEEK- 10

DESCRIPTION:

Complete a visitor survey provided by the American Association of State & Local History (AASLH). This project was started in July and needs to be completedin November. Intern must be outgoing and willing to approach visitors in a friendly and engaging manner. The duties for finishing the AASLH include:

1. Distribution and collection of surveys with visitors
2. Manage the project deadlines
3. Communicate and comply with AASLH to keep the project progress on track

Other duties may include, various types of evaluations in order to improve the visitor experience. Collect data through multiple methods, including: observations, interviews, questionnaires, data analysis, and ways to report the findings.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assist Visitor Services staff with the creation, planning and implementation of evaluation methods and assessment

• Analyze and summarize collected data

• Follow instructions by Visitor Services staff on how to conduct visitor interviews or questionnaires as needed.

• Work with staff to report findings

• Research other institutions’ use of visitor services, data collection and assessment as directed by staff

Qualifications:

• Background in evaluations, surveys or interviews a plus

• Knowledge and experience in research, data collection/analysis and information management

• Customer service skills and ability to speak to visitors and listen

We are flexible and willing to work with a student's schedule. Work may be on and off-site.
