Volunteer docents for the Ferguson House are the main point-of-contact for event rentals hosted on the first floor. During each volunteer opportunity, docents offer tours of the historic home to guests, sharing the history of the Ferguson family as well as the special features of the home.
Volunteers should be able to learn and share specific details about the family, the history of the home as well as be able to climb stairs with ease, as they may lead multiple tours during the event and no elevator exists in the home. Since they are the main point of contact, they must be friendly, responsible, comfortable interacting with the public while ensuring the facility is respected.
