In 2013, 49.1 million Americans lived in food insecure households, including 33.3 million adults and 15.8 million children. The state of Ohio has a significantly higher food insecurity rate than the U.S. national average. 1 in 6 Ohioans is currently at risk of hunger. If you are interested in doing your part to address the issue of hunger and poverty in Ohio, then look no further than Mature Services Inc.

Mature Services offers a variety of services to individual living in poverty, including providing supplementary food to those in need. The Mature Services Emergency Food Pantry is currently looking for volunteers to assist in with clients coming into the pantry and with pantry operations. Duties may include: checking clients into our database, walking them through our pantry and explaining the different choices they have, ordering food, restocking the pantry and answering and returning phone calls. Parking is free and on-site. Physical requirements include being able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, and being able to work on your feet for a few hours at a time. Volunteer training and orientation is provided. Scheduling is flexible and we can accommodate shifts ranging from two hours to five hours.
