Want to help keep the Rotary PlayGarden a pristine South Bay destination for families? There are several volunteer options to choose from depending on your schedule and ability:
* On Saturdays and Sundays, we need volunteers to drop in for one hour at noon and at 4 p.m. to give our attendant break. You do not need to do both shifts on a given day, you can do just one. During this time you’ll simply sit at the front gate and greet and count guests as they come in. You DO have enforce the rules, especially no dogs and no bikes, so a strong personality may come in handy once in a while.
* Not the sitting type? Pop in and visit our utility closet and do a sweep of the PlayGarden. Tidy up the sand area, sweep up litter, or just walk around and make sure everyone is awesome. You can also help between 9 and 10 a.m. when we do routine cleaning before opening. Using a leaf blower on the sand areas is pretty fun.
* Once in a while we close the PlayGarden for more intense cleaning. If you’d like to join us for one of these sessions, you will be rewarded with food!
Volunteers who help during operating hours will be asked to wear a cute PlayGarden Ambassador vest, which will instill you with authority! We do not require a big time commitment, even 1 hour a month would help, but we do need you to be reliable and punctual. Interested individuals can sign up by e-mailing jessica @ grpg.org or calling 408-298-7657.
