We are looking for volunteers interested in training on emergency preparedness to serve the community in the event of a disaster. Volunteers will be trained to prepare for and assist in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
The volunteers will train in Community Readiness and assist in Preparation, Mitigation, Response and Recovery. The community of El Paso will benefit from having volunteers in the community ready to serve in the event of a disaster. By being CERT certified, the Volunteers will provide assistance to their neighborhoods and at the workplace in case of disaster. Volunteers will participate in emergency preparedness as needed. However, volunteers will train and review material on a monthly basis.

Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, police departments, and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
