Our Shelter

  • TNR Feral Cat Feedings Help us feed and care for cats that are at home living outside.
  • Animal Caregivers Not only do you feed them, but those silly little fur balls need more brooms and mops, etc. to chase.
  • Foster Care Program The nanny-service for our cats and kittens.
  • Socialization Program Help some of our shy cats and kittens learn to relax and trust, so they can be more easily adopted.
  • Animal Transport Transporting cats to and from the vet, generally for routine shots and surgeries. The cats are new to the area and they don’t have a driver’s license!
  • Fundraising Events Pick an event (or recommend a new one!) and lend a hand. You’ll make new friends, perhaps learn or practice a new skill, or do something you know you enjoy! Every one wins!
  • Trapping/Rescue Help us catch and relocate animals from unsafe situations and locations.
  • Office Volunteer This includes a wide variety of things - from filing to help with data entry. Some work can be done from home. Our shelter staff welcomes your assistance!

About MetroWest Humane Society

Location:

30 Pond Street, Ashland, MA 01721, US

Mission Statement

An advocate for animal welfare, MWHS focuses on the well-being of cats in the Metrowest Boston area, including finding loving homes or providing life-long care while educating the community and reducing the feral/stray cat population.

Description

MetroWest Humane Society, a non-profit, no kill shelter, serves as a temporary (or in some cases, permanent) home to approximately 100 cats. In addition to finding these special cats' loving homes, we also run a community outreach program for people who need assistance to adequately feed the cats in their care, provide foster homes, Spay/Neuter programs, trapping and TNR (trap-neuter-release) programs and a socialization program.
