The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System provides a continuum of high quality healthcare services to Veterans. Volunteers help the staff by providing the "extras" to make the Veteran’s visit a positive and enjoyable experience. Though not an entitlement, the Volunteer Transportation Network provides a means to access care and treatment at or through the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System for Veterans who have no other means of transportation. Duty: Safely transport Veterans from their homes to their medical appointments using a government vehicle. Time commitment: Wednesday or Friday 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Minimum one year commitment. Minimum qualifications: Clean DMV record, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
