ORGANIZATION: Orange Literacy

  • 4 people are interested

Orange Literacy needs volunteer tutors for parents who want to learn English and whose children attend local Orange County Schools.

Classes meet at the following locations and times:

  • Mondays/Wednesdays from 6-8pm at Efland Cheeks Elementary

Classes will meet from September to December. The tutor will work with a small group of parents, focusing on the English they need to help their kids in school and communicate with teachers. Time commitment will be around 4-6 hours per week. Many of these parents will be Spanish-speakers, but you do not need Spanish skills to tutor.

No language skills or teaching experience are required. We will provide training and support. Contact Heather Bucurel at hbucurel@orangeliteracy.org in order to express interest in these positions.
