Jodi House Videography/Photography Internship Position
Are you interested in gathering real-life video and/or photo footage in a professional and friendly setting? Looking to build up your resume for free and get to know great people at the same time?
Jodi House, Inc. is seeking creative, personable, and professional videographers and photographers for the Jodi House Videography/Photography Internship Position.
This is not an offering for a job. The Jodi House Videography/Photography Internship is unpaid, and centers on allowing the candidate to build his/her platform while assisting Jodi House with its media publicity. There are, however, opportunities to build portfolios or college credit.
About Jodi House
Jodi House is committed to providing a place for the social interaction, life skills training, recreation, and support necessary for our members to successfully overcome the difficulties that result from traumatic brain injury. During fiscal year 2013-2014, Jodi House provided 12,887 hours of services to 122 men and women in our Day Program, and hundreds of more hours to loved ones and caregivers in our community. Our most popular activities include communication strategies, percussion and peer support group.
Internship Duties
The Jodi House Videography/Photography Intern will:
* Collaborate with Jodi House staff to create a video- and/or photojournalism project highlighting the narratives and daily lives of specific Jodi House members.
* Interact with Jodi House members on a bi-weekly or monthly basis, interacting with them to respectfully gather narratives and document their lives through photo and/or video.
* Maintain full copyrights and creative liberties within the guidelines of Jodi House’s policies.
Internship Requirements
Qualified candidates will:
* Be professional, eager to learn, flexible, and able to work with a wide variety of personality types.
* Be willing to commit to a 3-6 month internship with a bi-weekly or monthly routine.
* Have experience in the videography and/or photography field. A previous internship or completed course in videography/photography a plus.
* Experience with brain injury patients or adults with disabilities preferred, but not necessary. All training on member relations and safety will be provided by Jodi House, Inc.

Description
A brain injury can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Whether due to an auto accident, sports injury, stroke, tumor, or one of countless other causes, chances are you, or someone you know, has been affected by a brain injury.
During the chaotic and confusing days, weeks, or months in the ER, hospital, or inpatient rehabilitation, it is extremely difficult to comprehend what life with a brain injury will be like. Yet, once the medical professionals have finished their lifesaving work, survivors and their families are usually left to cope on their own with the life-changing and, often, lifelong emotional, behavioral, and social effects of the injury.
That’s where Jodi House steps in. Jodi House helps brain injury survivors integrate into the community to thrive and achieve their goals.
