What: Read and Feed is an after school literacy program that provides tutors to elementary kids from low-income families in a nurturing, neighborhood environment. Using mobile classrooms, our goal is to give kids an appetite for reading by providing nutritious meals, tutors and books to build home libraries. Commitment: 16-20 hours per month, Monday nights, 3:45pm - 8:00pm. We meet 24-26 weeks during the 2015-2016 academic school year. Location: RVs are based at our office in Cary, NC, and travel to sites all over Wake County Responsibilities: - Pick up and return RV to Read and Feed office in Cary - Complete check lists prior to departure, during set-up and upon return - Record mileage and anything of note regarding the RV - Set up tables and chairs and stow them away after sessions - May help with food service and tutor children if necessary Miscellaneous: - No special license or experience needed - we will train you. - Must have clean criminal and driving record. - Drivers will not transport children or volunteers.
