You do not need to live locally to assist with these tasks! This can all be done from Starbucks, your living room, or office! We have 3 opportunities within Our Department ~ Adoption Counselor ~ Post-Adoption Counselor and ~ Foster Coordinators! Which one is for you?

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 month commitment is required
• 20 hours per week (flexible)
• Only serious inquiries please
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Have a keen understanding of both people & pets, and Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Have the ability to call long distance if applicable & Voice mail capabilities -- since there are times when you are playing phone tag

OPTION A: Adoption Counselors

By volunteering in this position, you will take on one of the key roles in helping our animals find their forever homes. Must be able to commit to helping Sunday through Saturday (although there are many days you may not need to do anything). You will also guide the adopters through the process to find a perfect doggy or kitty, and make sure their questions are answered.

Applications have to be completed within 24-48 hours at the most after being received. As applications come in they are forward to our Application Team. Upon receipt, each Adoption Counselor e-mails the applicant to let them know that their application is being reviewed. Then, the counselor calls the references, personal and vet, as well as their landlord, and the applicant themselves. RHR provides a script. The script is then emailed back to RHR and RHR contacts the applicant based on the counselor's opinion and the answers received.

OPTION B: Post-Adoption Counselors

Volunteers check in with adopters to see how adopted pets are doing in their new homes!

OPTION C: Foster Coordinators

Volunteers keep in contact with Foster families for vetting and adoptions!
