Saturday Breakfast Team

Individuals needed to help prepare a brunch on Saturday, August 3 here at IMD Guest House. We have a kitchen stocked with cooking utensils and a double oven. Volunteers supply food items and prepare a simple breakfast spread. Suggested time for volunteers: 9:00a -11:30p, serving time is 10:00a. Those staying with us often spend long days in the hospital with their loved one or have outpatient treatments but Saturdays can be a day free of appointments. Breakfast made for them is a nice treat for our guests! We will have a Team Leader who will plan the menu and request a few more volunteers to bring the other food items.

Please contact us if you would like to be a Volunteer Team Leader or are interested in volunteering with us. Now booking for Sept and October. Menu ideas: Pancakes w/ Bacon & Eggs; Baked Egg Casserole, Breakfast Burritos, or Quiches with fruit salad.

Founded in 1999, the Guest House meets the critical need for affordable accommodations for outpatients and loved ones of patients seeking treatment away from home. Providing the comforts of home and the care of community, we are conveniently located in the Illinois Medical District on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago giving our guests easy access to our partner hospitals: John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Rush University Medical Center, UI Health-Chicago and the University of Chicago Medical Center Hospitals.
