Increase community awareness of SCAP's services and safer-sex resources; perform street and bar outreach to spread safter-sex materials and SCAP's HIV testing information; table at community health events; host presentations on HIV/STIs at local community events.
Job Duties
Work on one or more of the following projects:
- Street Outreach (Pass out SCAP flyers and safer-sex materials at homeless shelters, parks, bars, and areas where there are high volumes of people at higher risk of contracting HIV)
- Tabling at health fairs & community events (Represent SCAP at community events; pass out condoms, information about HIV, and SCAP flyers)
- Bar Outreach (Deliver condoms with HIV testing information to Santa Cruz county bars; create connections with new bars)
Qualifications:
- Must work one 4-hour Front Desk shift per week, at SCAP's office
- Must perform Community Outreach a minimum of one 4-hour shift per week
- Minimum six-month commitment; one year preferred
- Access to car prefered
- Experience working with LGBTQ people, Latinos/as, drug users, or homeless populations a plus
