We are recruiting for a Corporate Sponsorship Chair for our 6th annual Chelmsford Free to Breathe Lung Cancer 5K Run/Walk. This important member of our event planning committee is in charge of identifying companies in and around Atlanta for financial sponsorship of our event and recruiting them to become partners in our event. Your efforts will assist with fundraising, as well as offer marketing opportunities to companies interested in joining the fight against lung cancer.

This position requires a person who is comfortable talking to new people and asking for financial sponsorship. Someone who works in sales, buisness, or development might be perfect for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Identify businesses interested in sponsorship

* Present sponsorship opportunities throughout the community, make the ask of companies for sponsorship, and follow up to ensure commitment of sponsorships

* Set a Sponsorship Goal and create a strategy, in partnership with event staff to reach your sponsorship goal.

* Recruit Sponsorship Sub-Committee volunteers as necessary

Qualifications and Skills

* Knowledge of the community

* Sales experience or being a member of the business committee may be helpful

* Must be comfortable asking for large sums of money

* Must have the ability to lead and motivate; as well as excellent organizational skills
