FALL 2015 PROGRAMS INTERN
Summary
The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is seeking an intern to assist with public programming. Under the supervision of the NCSML’s Director of Programs, these interns will lead family activities and assist with special projects. This uncompensated internship may be used for credit if the internship fits the educational needs of the student and requirements of the college.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, research, development and implementation of family programming for a diverse audience.
- Manage programs, gallery talks, and other events as assigned.
- Assess programming using collected qualitative and quantitative data from events.
- Assist with outreach and marketing for upcoming public programming.
Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfortable with taking initiative; ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with or interest in event production.
- Customer service skills, comfortable working with children and the general public.
- Interest in history, museum studies, or education.
- Weekend or evening hours may be required depending on scheduled programming.
Hours
- 10 - 20 hours per week depending on projects and scheduled programming. 12 week internship fall/winter. Schedule is flexible.
