PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Help your community be better prepared for emergencies. Red Cross Instructors teach members of the community life-saving First Aid and CPR skills through a dynamic, classroom environment. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating class participants on their knowledge and skills. Responsibilities also include set-up/take-down on the classroom, transporting and cleaning for all equipment and inventory assigned, and submitting class results/records to the Training Specialist. Candidates for this position must be at least 18 years of age, comfortable with public speaking and class instruction, good written and verbal communication skills, and have basic knowledge of TV/DVD/Projector systems. Candidates must be physically able to lift & carry 25 pounds. A background in teaching is helpful, but not required.
OPEN TIME DAYS
4-8 hours per class.
Minimum of 4 classes per year.
REQUIRED TRAINING
Orientation to the American Red Cross.
Classroom training course list will be provided (approx. 15 hrs of training).
One-on-one mentoring and support from current First Aid/ CPR Volunteer Instructors.
Periodic training updates, as required.
