Volunteers of America Texas is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the vulnerable reach their full potential. We are in search of a passionate and caring individual to help teach computer skills class to the residents at our Avenue J community re-entry center!
Avenue J is a re-entry program for men and women exiting in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This program works with clients to help them successfully re-enter the community following their release.
The volunteer computer instructor will lead clients in a basic computer skills course. Volunteers will be responsible for showing them how to work Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, how to surf the internet, and how to set up an email account. This opportunity provides clients with an essential skill that will allow them to succeed in the workplace.
Volunteers should have knowledge of basic computer programs. Previous experience in computer skills instruction is useful but not required.
