The City of Austin storm drain marking program is a hands-on project for volunteers who are interested in educating the public about pollution prevention. The markers are placed on storm drain inlet filters to remind us that rainfall runoff can wash soil, yard waste, fertilizer, motor oil, and other contaminants into our waterways

The purpose of the Watershed Protection and Development Review Department is to efficiently and effectively protect lives, property, and the environment of our community by providing comprehensive development review and inspection services and reducing the impact of flooding, erosion and water pollution.
