From July 7-August 12: Computer Class Assistant
Do you love to work with computers? These volunteers with be assisting with computer classes for Su Casa clients with a wide range of ability levels. They may also have to perform some clerical or data entry functions. These volunteers will be provided a curriculum to follow; however, the volunteers should be prepared to supplement Su Casa materials with activities of their own. The ideal candidate would be a professional or upper level college student with a background in computer science, telecommunications, or adult education. English-Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.
Tuesdays 6 pm - 7:30 pm and Saturdays 12 pm-2 pm
From August 2015-May 2016: Computer Lab Monitors for Youth
Join us in supporting young clients! These volunteers with be working with young people (mainly high-school aged) newly arrived in the United States as they use Su Casa’s computer lab to improve their English, computer skills, and general academic achievement level. The volunteer may also have to perform some clerical or data entry functions. The ideal candidate would be a professional or upper level college student with a background in Spanish, TESOL/ELL or special education. STEM, psychology and social work backgrounds also welcome, as long as the candidate can communicate in Spanish. Those with an interest in the civil rights of students and young people encouraged to apply. Those interested in working with unaccompanied minors strongly encouraged to apply.

The Su Casa Hispanic Center, a program of Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio, serves the Hispanic/Latino individuals who are seeking a better life for themselves and their families. As a part of Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio, we share in the mission to "Enlighten, Serve, and Empower" the Hispanic Community of Cincinnati through our diverse range of services which include emergency assistance, legal services, education programs, and health promotion. Description
Su Casa offers a wide range of services to the local Hispanic community, including a variety of emergency assistance services. Additionally, Su Casa offers education programs, health promotion services, and legal consultation.
Our education program includes Citizenship, ESL, GED, and computer classes. Su Casa also offers a summer program called, Vacaciones Utiles, for students between preschool and second grade. After school tutoring is offered in the fall.
Our health promotion services include our health fairs, monthly health workshops, and fitness classes (including zumba and yoga).
Our legal consultants offer notary services, as well as volunteer legal consultations. Our legal services also include assistance with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) applications. And with some cases involving Unaccompanied Minors.
